ALL THE DETAILS

This gown is made-to-order: choose the size that you currently wear in contemporary sizing and choose the fabric combination from the fabric choices. Within 3-5 business days of receiving your order, I will send you a measurement worksheet listing the measurements required for a perfect fit.

The dress includes

  • pin tucks on the top half of the sleeves
  • bias bands to mimic larger tucks on the front opening of the dress
  • fully lined and boned bodice
  • front dog leg closure with hooks/eyes
  • v-neck, "wrap dress" style
  • fully gathered skirt with width of 150"-180"
  • hem faced with a coordinating solid cotton
  • one or more tucks at the hem
  • two roomy pockets, hidden in the side seams of the skirt

Measure your bust and waist and choose your size based on the pictured sizing guidelines. For the most accurate fit, please take the measurements while wearing your corset. The dress will be hemmed to accommodate a corded petticoat and sit about 2" off the floor, based on the measurements you provide on the measurement worksheet.

Choose your fabric; you can see the options below. Please note that the only available options are fabrics that are suitable for Meg's Morning Gown!  If you prefer a different fabric choice, please click on the dress name to be taken to that listing so you can order that dress and fabric.

Little Women Collection Dress Fabrics

Current fabric choices are shown with inspiration photos to help you visualize the dress in that fabric.  These inspiration photos are either photos of extant dresses or period fashion plates.  They serve ONLY as inspiration and do NOT depict exactly how your dress will be made. Once you order, I will contact you to discuss measurements and confirm exact details.

Feel free to contact us through the "Custom Orders" page if you wish to provide your own fabric or you have a different color in mind than the ones shown.

HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF

Please measure yourself while wearing the corset and other undergarments you plan to wear with the gown.  Remember that measurements such as your bust and waist should be 1-1.5" inches smaller than the dress measurements, to allow for ease of movement.

Refer to the measurement graphic in the listing and this video tutorial if you need assistance in understanding and taking your measurements. If you still have additional questions, please feel free to email me.

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, this dress is pictured over a corset, corded petticoat, and regular petticoats, but no corset or petticoats are included with this listing. This dress is made to fit over a historical corset and will not fit correctly over modern undergarments. However, if you would like your commissioned dress to fit over modern undergarments, please send an email, and I will be happy to oblige!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Care instructions will be included with your order, but if you choose a silk or wool fabric, it will be dry clean only.  Most dresses made with cotton, linen, or polyester fabrics can be washed.

Fun Seeing Where it All Begins for the Fantastic Amateur Detecting Duo
Format: Audiobook
I started with book three in this series, progressed forward, and finally took the opportunity to go back and get the first book in the series. The whimsical, cozy mystery paired with historical Edwardian setting was light and whimsical. Actually, when I started listening, I realized that the first book introduced Lady Hardcastle and her ladies' maid, Florence Armstrong along with their new home and the other regular characters, in such a way that it didn't feel like the first book so much as the first of the stories that had been recorded. There are hints of their unusual, dangerous work abroad and no big explanation why the pair happened to be set upon 'a quiet life in the country' or why Lady Hardcastle and Florence have a relationship that is nearly family rather than an employer and servant from separate classes. The author trickles out the details and the reader/listener must catch them and piece them together as they go. Because I had experienced later books, those pieces stuck out easily to me. The meeting with Inspector Sunderland and the local villagers and neighborhood was fun. There are two murder mysteries that have interesting crossover people and facts. One seems to involve a dead man from the village cricket team whose death was meant to appear like a suicide and then later, the death of a rag-time band trumpeteer that played at the engagement party of the local squire's daughter. A theft is tossed in for good measure. I figured out one of the murders and part of the theft and the second murder, but the ultimate solution took me by surprise. Loved seeing the intrepid Flo able to get in some of her martial arts ability and spend time trailing along as they teased out the solution along side Inspector Sunderland. Elizabeth Knowelden is an absolute gem of a narrator and the voice of this series for me. She laid out the Edwardian country village world, the variety of genders and accents, and kept the pace and tone for this series just right. All in all, I thought this first entry was as fabulous as the later books and do not hesitate to put it out there as a good bet for historical cozy mystery lovers.

Best sunblock. No white cast if you use the 30 spf. My dermatologist recommended this years ago and I’ve used it since.

No white residue
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I put this sunscreen on immediately after it was delivered. It smells so good & goes on smoothly without any white residue. It seems to protect the skin, but then again I put some on every hour on the hour and didn't have any issues. I will be reordering. I wish this was on subscribe and save, but will continue to purchase.
